Frequently asked questions about getting started, the solver, your data, and where to reach us if you still need a hand.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I get started?
- Open the app, create an event, then add guests and tables. Define constraints (who should sit together or apart), run the solver, and review the seating plan. The feature overview explains the workflow in more detail.
- The solver failed or looks stuck—what should I check?
- Hard constraints must be feasible (for example, total guest seats cannot exceed table capacity). Try relaxing soft rules or fixing impossible hard rules, then run the solver again. If it still fails, email us with your event name and what you saw—we can help interpret errors.
- Can I export or print my seating plan?
- Use the export and print actions in the app for the current plan so you can share or archive assignments.
- Where is my data handled?
- See our Privacy Policy for how we treat personal and event data.
- What is the best wedding seating chart software?
- The best tool depends on your event size and rules. SeatWise is built for constraint-based wedding seating: import guests, set hard rules (must sit together or apart), add soft preferences, and let the solver propose a plan you can adjust. Compare features and pricing to see if it fits your workflow.
- How do I handle divorced parents at a wedding?
- Seat divorced parents at separate tables or with enough distance that neither feels cornered. Mark a must-not-sit-together constraint in SeatWise so the solver keeps them apart, then review the plan. See our guide to seating divorced parents for more detail.
- Can SeatWise import guests from a spreadsheet?
- Yes. Import guests from CSV so you can load large lists quickly. Map columns to guest fields, fix any validation issues, then run the solver on your table layout.
- How much does wedding seating software cost?
- SeatWise offers an Individual plan at €10 per slot for a single wedding or event, and a Planners plan at €100 per month for professionals managing multiple clients. See pricing for current details.
- What's the difference between hard and soft seating constraints?
- Hard constraints must be satisfied for a valid plan—for example, two guests who cannot share a table. Soft constraints are preferences the solver tries to honor when possible. Read hard vs soft constraints explained for examples.
